Overview

Strategies for Change provides integrated oupatient substance abuse treatment and prevention services in Sacramento County. Our primary clients are women and families. Founded in 1978 as Women's Stress Alternatives, and later known as Chemical Dependency Center for Women, our recent name change reflects our growth and development as an agency providing family-centered trauma-informed substance abuse and mental health services.

Mission

"Strategies for Change fosters health, wholeness and self-sufficiency by providing exemplary education and support services that deter the onset or continuation of substance abuse."

Program

Strategies for Change provides a full-range of integrated outpatient treatment services, including general outpatient and perinatal day treatment, day care habilitative and outpatient, Proposition 36 outpatient and youth outpatient. Mental health services include group and individual therapy, Parent-Child Interaction Therapy and Psychiatric evaluation/medication management.

Impact

In 2006, Strategies for Change served over 1,400 clients. Our success rate for integrated services is over eighty percent.
